My Week in Sweat | 3 Weeks out (Gymnastics)

Okay so this was the week where a moment of doubt crossed my mind where I thought…have I taken too much on?

With a now choreographed fitness routine AND new gymnastics floor routine I am now trying to pull them both out the bag at the same time….Each session!

My fitness routine practice alone is exhausting to say the least, let alone trying to then train my 4 apparatus.

Originally my plan had been to compete (Bodybuilding) a bit later on in the year and I would just be drilling my gymnastics until my upcoming gym comp, then I have each Monday and Thursday session to focus on my fitness performance. But new opportunities are always on the horizon and I am a big believer in taking every opportunity and following your dreams.

So… I will deal with it! I changed my plan to fit my needs and onwards we go 🙂

I had a surprisingly good first session back on the bars with a good routine set, with a couple of other moves in work in progress. The rest on Monday was spent working flat out on floor with my two routines.

Thursdays session was a great feeling. I nailed my floor routine and that made me feel so much happier about running my two routines along side each other. When something is new it always requires so much extra brain work just to remember what you’re doing next. Now I feel much more confident that I can perform it well so that removes a bit of the pressure 🙂
I also wacked out a new vault which I was quite happy about, just needs some fine tuning!

Floor and vault are now sorted, next week I need to get out a beam routine (weakest apparatus) and continue my bars WIP. Fitness routine is still early days, it needs a lot of work! And everything else is just practice practice.

You know what they say: Don’t practice until you get it right…practice until you can’t get it wrong 🙂
